Protect Your Privacy
Use a screen name that does not reveal your identity, gender or location.

Protect your online password - never tell your password to anyone online! No reliable company or "repair person" will ask for it.

Read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Protect Your Safety

Never give your bank-account or credit-card number to anyone or use it to make an online purchase unless you are certain that the Web site is authentic and uses an encryption system to protect your account security

Never give details about your plans to be out of the house or traveling to anyone

Report any X-rated, threatening or hostile mail to your online provider

Don't

Never give personal or financial information to a company you are doing business with online before you know that it is reliable and you understand their privacy, customer-service and refund policies

Never give your name, age, gender, address, phone number or other personal details to a stranger

Never depend on luck to use the Internet wisely.

Use the same rules in cyberspace as you use in any public place. And be sure your children do too!
